Chiropracti
Chiropractors correct vertebral misalignments
Science indicates that interference with the body's muscular, nervous, and skeletal systems impairs important body functions and can lower resistance to disease. These misalignments are referred in chiropractic as subluxations and are corrected with gentle adjustments administered by Doctors of Chiropractic (D.C.'s). Therefore, chiropractic treatments focus on keeping the spine functioning properly to relieve pressure on connected muscles, joints and nerves.
Chiropractic Adjustments Help
Spinal adjustments can relieve ailments such as: Headache/migraines Neck or back pains, Sciatic pains, Allergies / Asthma, Stomach problems, Arm/shoulder pain, Hand Numbness or Tingling, Leg pains, stress relief, posture, and many more.
Chiropractic Examination
The doctor will perform a comprehensive neuro/ortho examination on all new patients. The objective is to determine whether your injury or condition would benefit from chiropractic care. Occasionally x-rays are required.
Adjustments
A specific adjustment will be applied to the involved joints to help increase mobility to the area involved and adjacent tissues. An adjustment is a gentle, precise placement of the vertebra or joint into its correct position.

After 20 Years of Suffering, I Finally Don't Have to Anymore!!
I have been suffering with constant migraine and headaches for 20+ years. I have been through the ringer as far as medical care (drugs). A friend suggested an alternative like chiropractic. I met Dr. Gary and the rest is history. He had explained to me how the body actually worked. No other Doctor had given me an explanation on why I am getting these headaches. Chiropractic has not only diminished my headaches, but improved my quality of life as well. Dr. Gary said to me "Headaches are not caused by a lack of Tylenol in our heads!!!" It makes perfect sense. Thank you for helping me. It has only been 2 months of care and my headaches are almost gone. All without drugs. Bryan from Middletown, NJ

Needles
Acupuncture is performed using extremely thin needles that are solid, flexible and disposable. As the needle begins to work, the patient may experience a dull, achy, warm, numb or tingling feeling around the area of insertion. Rare side effects include dizziness, bruising, or light-headedness. Most patients feel heavy or sedated after treatment, indicating the relaxing of tight muscles.
Meridians
Meridians are specific pathways that are associated with internal organs and other physiological systems. The specific points used in acupuncture lie where meridians surface on the body and once needled can help redirect the flow of Qi where it is unbalanced, interrupted or insufficient.
Qi (chee)
A person's natural vital energy, influences physiological functioning of the body to promote the body's ability to heal itself by flowing through channels called "meridians". The practitioner can detect the imbalance of Qi by diagnosing energy flow, which is measured by examining pulse, the appearance of one's tongue, medical history and tenderness along the meridian.
Pain Reduction
Acupuncture can be used to reduce pain. Acupuncture activates small nerve fibers in the muscle, the nerve fibers transmits impulses to the spinal cord and activate centers in the central nervous system, releasing neurotransmitters and a reduction in pain.
Acupuncture Treatments
Most treatments are recommended 2-4 times in 30-60 minute appointments.
Acupuncturist
formal education began at the New England School of Acupuncture where I learned the essentials of Acupuncture and Tuina Massage.
I am Board Certified under the National Certification Commission of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM) and licensed in Massachusetts. I have worked and/or studied under great practitioners including Dr. Xiao Ming Cheng, Richard Mandell, and Steven Jackowicz, PhD. for Acupuncture; and have continued training with Jeff Cote and Miles Chong Chen, PhD for Tuina Massage.
In 2005, I traveled to Uganda, Africa with Richard Mandell, and his Non-profit organization
the Pan African Acupuncture Project, to help train Midwives, Nurses and other Healthcare workers how to use Acupuncture in their hospitals and clinics. This was a wonderful experience and I learned first hand how much more responsive they were to treatments. This made me even more excited to see how well Chinese Medicine can really work.
