Located in the borough of Staten Island, New York, the Mesereau family built this mansion in 1832. The beautiful inn now serves as a restaurant, wedding and party facility. The mansion has been extended but the original part of the mansion still remains in use. In 1860, Mr. Mesereau went off to fight in the Civil War. He left behind his wife Martha, who waited intently for the safe return of her loved one. She would look outside of her bedroom window day and night.
